Warning: PNG web sites seem to come and go. The fact of life is that it costs money to host a web site and there is not much return on the outlay to most businesses in PNG.

If you do click on a link and use the services or even have some comments to make then please contact the people at the relevant web site and let them know so they at least know that someone has gained some value from their efforts. If you are so inclined then please mention that you heard about them from this web site. -- The PNG Gossip Newsletter.

Genetic Diversity

New genetic analysis of people living in Papua New Guinea shows a sharp genetic divide between 10,000 and 20,000 years ago that was likely determined by whether their ancestors lived a more nomadic life in the highlands or a more sedentary one in the lowlands. The genetic divide began at about the same time people began farming in the lowlands. In other parts of the world during the Bronze and Iron Ages, migration and innovations were the prime forces that shaped human evolution.

Twins Born in Aitape and Wewak

A set of twins has had an interesting start to their life on this planet. One was born on Christmas Day and the other on Boxing Day. Not unusual, I am sure it happens frequently enough around the world. What adds a twist to this is the fact that one was born at the Raihu Hospital, Aitape, West Sepik and the other was born at the Boram General Hospital in the next province of East Sepik. Hope there is never a war between East and West Sepik!
