Tenkile Conservation Film
You might find it hard to believe, but some kangaroos live in trees! Tree kangaroos are one of the world's best kept wildlife secrets. But in PNG, they are struggling for survival: they are being hunted to extinction. A few years ago, the entire world population of the Tenkile, one of the rarest species, was down to just one hundred individuals.
"Into the Jungle" is an inspiring film about conservation and the protection of this rare and unique species of tree kangaroo and its impact on a rural community in West Sepik province.

It would appear that Morobe has two Deputy Governors, one duly recognised by a decision of the Lae National court and another appointed by the incumbent Provincial Executive Council. Waterproof Emergency Radio
All banana boats are currently built in PNG. As far as the writer (Ernie Lohberger) knows it is many years since any have been imported. All boats currently built in the country, by a number of different companies, offer full flotation by law. This means the boat will not sink if flooded. It can be used as float by passengers. However, if no-one knows you are floating in the water, you are still in trouble. Flotation may not apply to earlier older boats, some of which have no or limited flotation built in. It is recommended to purchase for less than K1000 a waterproof EPIRB (Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon). A device that will help rescuers locate you in an emergency.
